This king ring embodies artistic creativeness, the spirit of handmade, massive structure, and intricate details fit for royalty, yet the ring started as just a flat sheet of 18 gauge sterling silver. The ring shape was sawed by hand from the sterling silver with a 52 tpi jewelry saw. I created the cut outs by drilling pilot holes, feeding the saw blade through the holes, and sawing out the interior shapes. The flat ring form with the cuts outs was then worked into a semi round shape where the two ends of the metal touch ed and I could solder the ends together to produce a seam with an acetylene torch. I placed the ring shape on a steel ring mandrel and hammered the metal into a perfectly round ring. The ring was tumbled overnight in steel shot to smooth the surface and remove any burrs and rough area, before filing the edges with very fine jewelry files. I applied a patina to the surface for highlights and shadows and gave the ring a natural sterling silver glow with a wire brushed burnish. The finished ring is worthy of king!

The ring is size 11, but can be ordered in any size with your choice of finishes.
